Objective

The student:

· Identifies individual, cultural and environmental factors affecting the health of women of different ages
· Promotes a woman’s health and social well-being and understands the importance of women’s health for the health of the whole family
· Knows the treatment process for a gynaecological patient
· Can meet individuals and families with different cultural backgrounds and understands the diversity of cultural features in midwifery work
· Can anticipate and analyse changes in a woman’s health and can act in a multi-professional manner as required
· Can act according to the values and principles of midwifery work
· Students will learn to provide customer-driven family planning guidance to women and their partners.

Sexual and Reproductive Health throughout a Woman’s Life Cycle
• Health risks, problems and midwifery in the life cycle of women
• Woman- and family-oriented approach
• Diversity of families
• Professional values, ethical guidelines and principles of midwifery and adherence to them
• Cultural factors related to the sexual and reproductive health of individuals, families and society
• Cultural resources and challenges in women’s care
• Ethical conflicts in midwifery

Gynaecological Midwifery
• Gynaecological care environments and paths
• Special features of the treatment process of gynaecological patients
• Gynaecological diseases and their treatment
• Childlessness and its treatment
• Miscarriage and abortion and related treatment
• Clinical competence in the care of gynaecological patients
• Gynaecology and endocrinology

Family planning
• Determination of the need for pregnancy prevention and contraceptive methods
• Prevention of venereal diseases
