The student
• Is aware of essential ethical principles in social and health care
• Knows the basics of distinctive and professional meeting of clients
• Knows the basics of professional activity with clients and work
• Recognizes ethical challenges in client interaction and reflects acting in these situations
• Develops his/ her own communication and ethical competence in various study and work situations in social and health care

Further information
To the course there are no previous education requirements, but good Finnish language level is necessary. The students are selected on the basis of enrollment order.
The student enrolling to the course have to notice that this course does not necessarily compensate the ethics and philosophy courses required in social- and health care degree programmes. Every university and university of applied sciences decide based on its own guidelines the compensation or inclusion of this course to the degree studies.
