Objective

The aim of early age music pedagogy is to strengthen the musical and pedagogical competence of those working in early childhood education and music education and to expand their capacity to act as music educators in early childhood education. In addition, the aim is to take into account the different needs of children and to brainstorm new ways of working for early age music education, as well as to promote teamwork skills and learning abilities through playful activities. Experiences are strengthened by taking into account the multisensory nature of learning and the opportunities offered by other fields of art.

Content

After completing the course, the student:
- is familiar with the concepts and music software used in early childhood education and the musical educational goals to support the child's musical development and learning
- has learned the different elements of music and learned to utilize them as well as early childhood music repertoire and instruments in the guidance of children's groups
- has learned to draw up and implement pedagogical plans and to evaluate their implementation
- has learned how to use meaningful and essential content of musical learning for children and to choose methods of musical early childhood education that are characteristic of children
- has learned to choose musical working methods that are child-oriented and suitable for the child's development
- has developed their child-oriented ways of working in early music education under the guidance of music education and learning in the children's group
- has learned to train the child's musical memory and listening skills and to support the child's cognitive, emotional, motor and social development through experiences and through play
