Students will
• Learn to apply their knowledge to monitor the growth and development of children and to support children as individuals, family members and representatives of their own culture
• Learn to cooperate with families and various interest groups to maintain and promote a safe growth environment
• Learn to apply their knowledge to support parenthood throughout the family’s development
• Learn to prevent infectious diseases and to master vaccination
• Be able to carry out family education

• Principles guiding operations in child health centres
• Support for parenthood based on the child’s and family’s resources throughout the child’s development
• Growth and development of under-school-aged children, as well as regular follow-ups
• Monitoring of the child’s sight and hearing
• Nutrition of babies and toddlers
• Special questions related to the nutrition of children (constipation, diarrhoea)
• Immunization programme and vaccination
• Special questions related to the child’s development (e.g. bed-wetting, delays in development, eating problems, disturbances in speech development)
• Levels of sexuality
• Multiprofessional cooperation
