Objective

The student:

• Can support parenthood during pregnancy or after childbirth
• Know how to pay attention to the special characteristics of maternity nursing in public health nursing
• Practice monitoring and counselling methods during pregnancy and after childbirth
• Can promote the sexual health of people of different ages
• Can apply the knowledge base of nursing children, young people and families when caring for children of different ages in a family-oriented manner and promoting health
• Can pay attention to the special characteristics of nursing children and adolescents
• Practises their proficiency in determining the need for child or adolescent nursing and the related processes of planning, implementation and evaluation
• Know how to administer pharmacotherapy for people of different ages
• Practise supporting and counseling children, adolescents and families in different situations concerning health and illness
• Practise decision-making in nursing together with the child, adolescent or family and with various professional groups
• Can support the resources of children, young people and families to promote health
• Can operate in accordance with the principles of sustainable development in a care environment

• Practising the public health nursing methods of supporting the growth and development of children and adolescents
• Applying evidence-based information in the public health nursing activities of children and adolescents
• Pharmacotherapy and vaccinations of people of different ages
