Objective

The student
- can handle the following dental technology materials: polymers, composites, waxes, impression materials, metals, ceramics
- knows their mechanical and chemical characteristics
- knows principles of technical bonding of different types of materials
- search, organize and store information and utilize it appropriately and in a controlled manner (Tieha 1ECTS)

Content

Parts of the course can be implemented by the Department of Dentistry of the University of Turku
Simulationtraining
- restorative and prosthetic biomaterials in dental care
- interaction between biomaterials and tissue
- PMMA-training
- Co-Cr-training (battle of bonds)
- 3-point bending test (fiber reinforcement, composite, zirkonia, glass ceramic (eMax), CoCr, titanium)
- wax-training
