*** Läsnäolovelvoite edistää yhteisöllisyyden kehittymistä ryhmässä, mikä tukee yksittäistä opiskelijaa hänen opiskelupolullaan. Se edistää opiskelijan yleisten työelämätaitojen kehittymistä (mm. tiimityötaidot, itsensä johtaminen, verkostoitumistaidot, palautteen antaminen ja vastaanottaminen). Se edistää myös sosionomin ammatissa tarvittavien taitojen kehittymistä, joita ei voida omaksua pelkästään itsenäisen opiskelun avulla vaan vuorovaikutuksessa (kuten ammatillinen vuorovaikutus, dialogisuus). ***
