Objective

After completing the course student:
- masters the basic concepts of circular economy
- understands the limited scope of resources
- knows the most important business models of circular economy
- understands how circular economy links to own field of studies
- knows how to allocate resources for tasks to be done, and to take into account the objectives set by supervisor or client
- can construct a concise and informative presentation

Content

Principles and functions of circular economy from the perspective of sustainable development. Benefits and opportunities of circular economy for society and companies, and business models of circular economy.

Teaching methods

n the Circular Economy Course (5 ECTS), the student will develop business skills (needed in working life) and the basics of circular economy the fact-based content of the course. This includes customer oriented approach and business models. Also skills of collaboration and project management. The objective is that the students can apply all of this into practise when encouraged to learn in a new way.

The module is divided into three phases:

Phase I: The principles of Circular Economy (2 ects)
Phase II: The methods of Circular Economy (2 ects)
Phase III: Circular Economy in practice (1 ects)

Exam schedules

No exam on the course.

In this course the grading is numerical from 0-5.

Final grade consists of:
10 % self assessment (Task 3B)
90 % teacher assessment based on following tasks (please see assesment criteria in each Phase in Optima).
Task 1A, 30 %
Task 2B, 60 %

Obligatory tasks:
Phase I: tasks 1A & 1B
Phase II: tasks 2A & 2B
Phase III: tasks 3A & 3B

On this course:
You don't have the possibility to raise your final grade or grade for individual task.
If you Fail the course, then you have one possibility to recomplete the course. Separate information from teachers if needed.
