Objective

The participants are able to describe the different concepts of circular economy and resource efficiency. The participants are able to name and describe different implementations of circular economies in the fields of chemical engineering, food technology and materials technology. The participants are able to recognize and describe the business potential of new innovations and entrepreneurship in circular economy

Content

The course is a non-stop virtual course in English. The participants are able to study individually with a flexible time schedule.
- Concepts of circular economy and resource efficiency
- Bioeconomics, food loss in food production chain, sharing economy
- Innovations, service and new business opportunities

Location and time

Course in a non-stop course. The student can flexible proceed in own speed.

Materials

The course will be held in English. Students gather their own material. There is also Web-based material in Optima.

Student workload

Circular Economy is studied via several Web-based Tasks. Total working hours are in average 5 x 26,7 h = 133 h

Content scheduling

The course consists of several individual tasks that can be studied within own time-schedule. The course starts at the 1st of May 2020 and it can be continued till the end of the school year.

Further information

The course requires ability to lead ones own studies since all the tasks will be done alone within own schedule in web.

Assessment methods and criteria

The assessment is based on Task reports. The final evaluation is the average of each Task.
