Materials

Study material for an artistic/pedagogic/functional thesis often consists of material, repertoire and competence collected by the student during his/her studies, as well as the student's creativity and skill to apply/interpret the material he/she has internalized.

-the student receives a written statement and an evaluation of their completed artistic/pedagogic/functional thesis

Completion alternatives

MUSIC:
The duration of the artistic part is about 30–60min.
The artistic part may also consist of several recordings of different occurrence situations.
A functional part may be, for example, participation in a research/development project.
The pedagogical part may be, for example, a teaching experiment or the development/ compilation and production of educational material.

Student workload

The scope of the artistic/pedagogic/functional Thesis section varies depending on the degree of weight the student wishes to assign to this section in relation to the obligatory written section. One part can be 1/3 = 7 credits and the other part 2/3 = 13 credits or both parts can have weighted in the same way 1/2 and 1/2.

Content scheduling

MUSIC:
The artistic part of the thesis may be, for example, a thematic or free-form live concert, concert recording or other recording of the student's performance situation (solo or composition concert, chamber concert, Concert for young soloists, etc.) or teaching experiment or preparation/compiling of educational material

Assessment methods and criteria

The areas to be evaluated of the artistic/pedagogic/functional thesis are:
• knowledge and skills in your field and the ability to apply and interpret them competence in development activities
• self-improvement competence
• organizational and collaborative competence
• ethical competence
The evaluation takes into account the work during the thesis process and the outcome of the artistic/pedagogic/functional thesis.
The evaluation is directed at:
• a still life and the plan of artistic/pedagogic/functional work (the delineation of the task, the skills, its application and the implementation method)
• the creativity and the personal mode of expression and presentation
• goal awareness
• working process
• reflection of one's actions
• management of one's own work.

Assessment criteria, fail (0)

No (working) methods suitable for the task and objectives have been selected for the thesis. In the thesis, there has not been utilized or applied skills in your field acceptably and the thesis has not been implemented in an acceptable manner.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

Only partially suitable (working) methods for the task and objectives have been selected for the thesis.
The thesis has only narrowly utilized and applied skills in your field.
The thesis has been implemented modestly but acceptably.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

Methods (working) well suited to the task and objectives have been selected for the thesis.
The thesis has utilized and applied skills in your field appropriately and well.
The thesis has been implemented in a personal way and well.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The thesis has been selected (working) methods very well suited to the task and objectives.In the thesis, there is produced/ applied (in collaboration with others) new content in the field and implemented creatively the methods of applying and interpreting knowledge/skills.
