Objective
The student is able to specify the concepts and principles of radiation protection and applies those into clinical practice in health care in plain radiography and dental imaging as well in veterinary practice. He /she recognize, assess and minimize risks of radiation and prepares for the accidental exposures and is able to solve them. He /she is able to explain and supervise radiation protection practices including radiation protection of the staff and population. He /sh eis able to advice in the use of safe radiation including quality assurance and in implementing of new procedures and optimization. He / she develops radiation safety culture together with radiation safety expert.

1. Basics of radiation physics in plain radiography, dental and veterinary imaging
2. Measurement technique and mathematical procedures in plain radiography, dental and veterinary imaging
- patient dose determination (ESAK; KAP, MGD, efective dose)
- Scattering of radiation in in plain radiography, dental and veterinary imaging
- effects of restricting and tube voltage to scattering
-planning of radiation protcetion shielding (HVL, materials)
3. Radiation protection in plain radiography, dental and veterinary imaging
- radiobiology
- legislation and international recommendations
-Tradition safety at workplace
- accidental exposures
