The course is realized as a service design project work for a commissioner.

The course is a continuum to the Future Research and Development course theme: What would be the future needs of social and health care sector, as well as wellbeing sector in the sparsely populated areas (countryside / archipelago).

The course starts with a pretask based on the research work done during the Future Research and Development -course. The contents of the pretask shall be following: introduction, PESTE-analysis, Futures Table, scenarios, summary, sources etc. Remember to motivate the choises you have made in the work: restrictions, variables, values.

The commissioner is the project “KEMUSOTE - Light entrepreneurship and resilience as an enhancer for conditions and work well-being in social and healthcare sector”. The theme is services provided by private entrepreneurs in social and health care and wellbeing sectors in the sparsely populated areas (countryside / archipelago).

The goal of the study project is to research what kind of services and service possibilities, such as (light) entrepreneurship and co-operation, would be needed in the future, year 2070, within social and health care and wellbeing sectors.

The objective is to innovate future services offered by small entrepreneurs. -What kind of services has there been in the past, what is offered nowadays and what will they be in the future? What kind of new needs and possibilities will there be?

Two of the previous scenarios shall be completed to future service concepts consisting of different service design canvases necessary for the commission, to be defined when the course starts. You will work in the same groups of 3 – 4 persons as during the Future Research and Development course.
