Objective

After taking part in this module, the student:
- knows the properties of different fuels

- can analyze the life cycle impacts of different fuels from an economic and environmental perspective

- knows the impacts of combustion gases generated by the combustion process

- knows the principles of climate protection processes and applications 

- can scale both processes and processing units for combustion gas management

- can determine both type and magnitude of emissions generated in combustion 

- can describe the emissions generated in nuclear power plants in normal mode

- can describe basic security structures of nuclear power plants and nuclear waste treatment principles 

- can determine the prospects for carbon capture and storage (CSS), and estimate the costs and benefits of existing technologies.
