Objectives: Students will
• Understand the treatment path for surgical patients
• Become familiar with the overall treatment of a surgical patient and its various foundations, special features and ethical requirements regarding patients representing different demographic groups
• Become proficient in aseptic techniques and systematic work
• Learn to promote and ensure occupational and patient safety in the treatment of surgical patients
• Learn to plan, administer, monitor and evaluate safe and effective medication and fluid therapy for surgical patients
• Become familiar with nursing related to most common surgical procedures and the related examination and treatment methods
• Practise various assistance methods used in surgical nursing

• Become familiar with the overall treatment of a surgical patient and its various foundations, special features and ethical requirements regarding patients representing different demographic groups
• Become proficient in aseptic techniques and systematic work
• Learn to promote and ensure occupational and patient safety in the treatment of surgical patients
• Learn to plan, administer, monitor and evaluate safe and effective medication and fluid therapy for surgical patients
