Assessment methods and criteria

Course grading will be based on home assignments and laboratory assignments.

On-site course attendance is required minimum 50% to pass the course. Exceptions are to be agreed with the Lecturer individually.

Maximum points score (excl. bonus labs) for the course is 100p, and grading is as follows:

50-59 pts = 1
60-69 pts = 2
70-79 pts = 3
80-89 pts = 4
90 and more = 5

Content scheduling

The goal of this course is to enhance the student’s understanding of how to configure and manage Next-Generation Firewalls. The course focuses on configuring managing, and monitoring a firewall in a lab environment, including the following:

- Configure and manage the essential features of Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls
- Configure and manage Security and NAT policies to enable approved traffic to and from zones
- Configure and manage Threat Prevention strategies to block traffic from known and unknown IP addresses, domains, and URLs
- Monitor network traffic using the interactive web interface and firewall reports
