Objective

After completing the course, the student is able to

- define the basic concepts of visual culture, media analysis and media criticism
- critically examine the meanings and imagery of film, journalism, advertising and other media products
- name the expressive possibilities of visual narrative
- explain the means of visual rhetoric and the roles of the media as social influencers
- infer causal relationships between things

Content

The students study the basic concepts of visual culture, image and media analysis, analyse the meanings and contents of images and texts and their societal impact. During the course, images are produced and searched for analysis.
