Objective

After completing the study unit the student is able to
- analyze professional texts in his/her own field and utilize the knowledge in new situations
- produce a factual and consistent written and oral presentation using the source material they acquire
- select the source material in a source critical manner and mark the source entries of the used material
- know how to use language service guides and different layout models as support for writing
- utilize different modes of argumentation
- design and deliver an impressive oral presentation that is suitable for the target audience
- assess own communication and professional interaction skills
- evaluate his/her own communication skills
- take advantage of the received feedback and provide developmental feedback
- assess his/her communicative skills as part of the future professional skills

Content scheduling

The course is a professional communication course (not a grammar course) and is intended for students whose native language is Finnish or otherwise have C2-level language proficiency. The course is not an S2 course. It is aimed at engineering students.
