Objectives
• Students will know how to determine and document surgical and internal medicine patients’ needs for care, plan and administer care and evaluate the effectiveness of care
• Students will learn to identify the changes that internal medicine or surgically treated illnesses and injuries cause to patients and their family members
• Students will learn to apply the internal medicine and surgical treatment methods appropriate for each individual patient
• Students will gain proficiency in pharmacotherapy related to the care of internal medicine and surgical patients (medication passport)
• Students will know how to support and give advice to patients and their family members about managing health problems and performing lifestyle changes and rehabilitation required for common surgical and internal medicine disorders
