Objective

Compared to the course “Social development and influencing activities II”, the student proceeds to more demanding tasks. The student’s role is more responsible and goal-oriented than in the organ on the second course.

After completing the course, the student can

•present the operations of his/her organ broadly and describe how its operations are developed on the strategic level
•describe social decision-making processes on the local and national level
•act according to the goals of his/her own interest group
•use creative problem-solving methods in development tasks
•implement development projects by applying and combining information and methods of different fields
•act in a constructive manner in demanding tasks within the operating area to develop the organisation

Content

The student learns about influencing at a higher education institution and in society (e.g. the Board of TUAS Ltd, as one of the presiding officers of the student union, in political organs on the municipal or national level)
•Participation in the organ’s operations and the development of its ways of action (e.g. planning the updating process of the strategy and participation in its implementation, examining and evaluating strategic documents)
•Responsible communication about the organ’s operations to other students and from the students to the organ and central interest groups
•Completing a development task: reflecting one’s own learning compared to the first and second course on Social development and influencing activities, recognising one’s own development targets and competence, envisioning and deepening one's competence
•Critical examination of the organ’s rules, other documents that steer the operations and its ways of action and development of the operations (decision-making organisation)
