Content scheduling

The course introduces students to the processes and practices of public art and the factors that influence (expression, materials, security, life cycle). Seminar and lectures, students learn how to make a presentation for a public art work. The articles given in the course give different perspectives on the topic. We will start working with a joint meeting on Tuesday 22.10. at 10 am in Projektitila. After that, you will be working with Markon Backman in the PC class on teaching Blender or skecht-up 3D. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays are reserved for lectures and personal meetings.
The course consists of three parts:
1. Blender or SketchUp Workshop (Marko Backman)
2. Lecture series / seminar 4.11. (open to all and compulsory to PKUVAS17)

Assessment methods and criteria

At the end of the course, a joint assessment discussion will take place, after which the student will reflect on what he or she learned in writing. The subject of the assessment is the student's own development and the development of theoretical and practical processes, not the artistic outcome.

Tasks have not been done or do not match the assignment and have not participated in joint meetings, lectures, etc.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

Student
• is able to apply the given instructions to his / her own work
• is able to use key professional concepts and tools and apply them to their own expression
• participates in a dialogue with the community in interaction situations

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

In addition to the above, a student
• can design their own work and identify the stages of their work process
• is able to evaluate and measure the time required for study / work preparation
• demonstrates the knowledge base of documentary photography
• works and operates in accordance with ethical and ecological principles
• Is able to develop and deepen his personal expression
• is able to invest in more extensive connections and contemporary art

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the above, a student
• Demonstrate a critical overlap of selected materials, working methods, and contents with contemporary art discourses
• is able to analyze and develop the stages of its work process
• is able to critically analyze different solutions
