Objective

The student knows the properties of gases and liquids and can tell the differences of matter behavior in different states. The student is able to discuss the nomenclature, constitution and properties of the different classes of organic compounds.The student is able to understand laboratory safety rules and is able to safely handle chemicals in the lab. The student knows how to use common glassware, equipment and simple sensor systems to make measurement and chemical reactions

Content

Matter, states of matter, inorganic and organic compounds. Properties of the liquid: viscosity density, surface tension.Laboratory rules and laboratory safety.Lab notebook and reports. Handling of common glassware, weighting, balances.
