Tavoitteet
The student can identify the most common synthetic inorganic and organic biomaterials used in medical devices and applications. The student understands the main interactions of inorganic materials (glasses, ceramics, glass-ceramics, metals), biodegradable and biostable polymers (natural and synthetic polymers) and their composites with biological systems. The student understands the main principles, risks and requirements of developing biomedical materials. The student identifies how the course connects to the UN sustainable development goals 3,8,11,12,13 and 15 (https://sdgs.un.org/goals)
