Basics of Structural DesignLaajuus (3 cr)

Objective

After the course the student is familiarized with structural engineer's tasks and different phases of designing. He is familiarized with frameworks, framework solutions and bonds of constructional details. He is also able to define design loads in different loading cases and knows the fundamentals of structural calculations.

Contents of structural design and the tasks of engineer, framework solutions and typical connections of reinforced concrete, steel and wooden structures, calculating bearing capacities and joining loads, contents of structural calculations, drawing structural designs.
