Objective
After completing the course, the student knows the main parts of foundation works and can identify the foundation methods and foundation structures as well as identify the most common risks of foundation construction work. The student will learn basics of soil laboratory works.
Content
Analyses of soil investigations, foundation on ground, foundation on rock and pile foundations, soil reinforcements, frost protection, earthwork requirements, excavation, radon and frost protection design.
Exercise: Foundation report for demanding building area.
Soil laboratory work: Gradation, water content, consistency, water conductivity, Loadman measurements.
