Opintojen aikana pureudutaan gerontologian alan johtamisen ja kehittämisen haasteisiin sekä tulevaisuuden toimintaympäristöihin. Koulutuksen suorittanut osaa vaikuttaa vanhuspalveluiden uudistamiseen.
Opintojen keskeisiä sisältöjä ovat:
Gerontologisen asiantuntijuuden ammatillinen ympäristö
Gerontologisen työn johtaminen, kehittäminen ja eettisyys

Koulutuksen kokonaisuus on 30 op:
Tulevaisuuden toimintaympäristöt 5 op, syksy 2023
Tiedolla johtaminen 5 op, syksy 2023
Tulevaisuuden sote-palvelut 5 op, syksy 2023
Ikäihmisten terveyden ja hyvinvoinnin edistäminen 5 op, kevät 2024
Eettisyys vanhustyössä 5 op, kevät 2024
Ikäpalveluiden asiakaslähtöinen kehittäminen 5 op, kevät 2024
Jaksokohtaiset osaamistavoitteet ilmoitetaan jakson alkaessa.
Development
Opinnot toteutuvat verkko-opiskeluna avoimen ammattikorkeakoulun kautta ja itsenäisenä työskentelynä. Verkko-opetusta järjestetään keskimäärin kerran kuukaudessa yhtenä tai kahtena päivänä. Henkilökohtaisen opintojaksovalintojen myötä lähipäiviä voi olla enemmänkin. Verkko-opetus muodostuu ohjauksesta, asiantuntijaluennoista ja seminaarityöskentelystä.
