Objective
The aim is to develop the student's self-image and self-concept. The students learn to recognise their own self-image and its significance in identity and understand the factors affecting it. The student knows and recognizes the communication skills needed in working life and identifies the strengths and development areas of his/her own communication skills. The students learn to identify their own strengths and own areas for development. The student recognizes the future working life needs. The students learn to utilise their networks and use them as part of their job search. The students get acquainted with the working life of the region and the work tasks in their own field. At the end of the course, the student understands his/her own competence and the requirements of working life in relation to his/her own field and future duties. The course is held in Finnish.

Teaching methods
The course consists of Contact teaching and remote meetings, group work, a mentoring meeting or a company visit, as well as a learning diary to be worked on throughout the course.

The course consists of individual, pair and group work, a mentor or company visit, and a learning diary to be worked on throughout the course.
The scope of the course is 5 ECTS, which corresponds to 135 hours of student work.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
The course is evaluated on a pass/fail scale.
Failed:
The student has not completed/returned the assigned assignments.
The student has not participated in pair or group assignments.
The student has not prepared a learning diary in accordance with the given instructions.

During the course, various group work and assignments are carried out that require active participation in contact teaching. The course has a total of seven meetings implemented as contact teaching, of which a maximum of three absences can be made. Each absence must be compensated for by separately requested tasks.
