Objective
The course deals with the features, installations, and a selection of electrical machines. After completing the course, the student:
- Can explain the structure, operation, and features of power- and measuring transformers
- Can explain the structure, operation, and featres of different electric machines (DC, synchronous, asynchronous, and reluctance machines) as well as their uses both as motors and generators
- Knows the properties of devices connected to electric motors (pumps, fans, conveyors, crushers, lifts, elevators, etc.)
- Can interpret standards for electric machines operation and installations
- Can select and dimension electric motor for an application
- Can measure the physical quantities involved with electric machines
