Competence objectives of study unit
After completing the course, student will be able to
· describe the role of Power Electronics in renewable energy conversion and energy storage systems
· Understand and realize energy system block diagrams, describing voltages, currents, power flows and efficiency as well as control units
· Understand and describe the basic power electronics switching cell (inverter leg)
· Explain the basic buck and boost DC/DC converters and set the parameters for main components
· Explain the basic single phase and 3-phase inverters and set the parameters for main components
· Present the Power Electronics part for a RE production and storage system including technical and economic aspects
