Objective

After completing the course, the student · can sing and note free tonal and modal polyphonic music more demanding than the B level
- can sing single-tone and polyphonic music containing c-clefs ·
- can perform and write down polyrhythmic music
- shows a personal artistic view when interpreting music

Content

Solfege B is an optional study course that a student can complete in any year of study, after having demonstrated that he/she possess the knowledge and skills required at C level.
The study course includes
· singing and notation of free tonal music containing intervals from unison to augmented fourth/diminished fifth and symmetric scales
- writing down/ notation polyphonic western music (3 or 4 voices)
-identification and naming the chords of a modulating chord sequence based on auditory perception
- singing one-voiced and polyphonic music with C-clefs
- performing music containing changing timesignatures and different lengths of the beat as well as exceptional divisions of the rhytmic measure

Content scheduling

Content:
-singing and notating symmetrical scales and unison free tonal music including small intervals
-identification the chords of a modulating chord period based on the hearing observation
-singing and notating unison and polyphonic tonal and modal music as well as polyphonic music of the 1900's
- singing unison or polyphonic music including C-clefs
- presenting and notating rhythms including changing timesignatures and beats with changing divisions as well as polyrhythm

Oral items:
prima vista tasks:
-singing of a unison free tonal melody
-singing of a melody including C-clefs
-presenting of the rhythm including changing timesignatures

Written items:
-notating of a unison free tonal melody and identification of accompaniment chords
-notating of a melody in three voices and identification of chords
-notating a rhythm including changing timesignatures
