Objective

The student knows the basic characteristics of the Baltic sea and has a basic understanding of the environmental problems and their solutions.

In itslearning - learning platform

Teaching methods

Independent learning, the student gets points from the tasks and quizzes. There is a timetable for the course and each part has to be done by its deadline. There is one compulsory online discussion on the 15th of November.

Exam schedules

No final exam, the assessment is based on assignments and is explained in the itslearning platform.

Student workload

There is a quiz in each topic, a few other tasks and one online discussion + mind map. A 4 cr course.

Content scheduling

The course is an online course in Itslearning. It begins on the 30.8. and ends on the 22.11.21.
It consists of eight parts: Geography, Blue Bio economy, Oceanography, Ecosystem, Eutrophication, Marine litter and Hazardous substances and Organisations.

H-5

Assessment methods and criteria

You will get points from the quizes and assignments in each section. The maximum score is 180 points. If you do not pass the quiz before dead-line, you will get 0 points from that quiz. However, it is still possible to pass the course if you get a sufficient number of points from other assignments.
A minimum of 90 points are required to pass the course. Grading: 90-107 points = 1, 108-125 points = 2, 126-143 = 3, 144-161 = 4, 162-180 = 5
