    Competence objectives of study unit
    After completing the course, the student is able to:
    · solve problems in health promotion and develop and manage health promotion innovatively in the field of social and health care
    · explain decision-making mechanisms in social and health care and social policies and services and interpret their effect on controlling decision-making in social and health care nationally and internationally
    · explain the structure, decision-making and financing system of a service system and compare from different angles the possibilities of the current service system to meet the population's needs
    · explain the significance of strategy as a management tool as well as the foundations of a strategic process and its implementation
    · evaluate and familiarize ownself with different development, leaderships and management models
    Content of study unit
    · Promoting health and well-being in municipal decision making

    · Pre-evaluation methods as a support for decision making

    · Welfare managing tools (Health Reports and indicators)

    · Expertise management: Participatory management, Change management and Network management

    · Work as an independent expert in different health promoting settings

    · Develop leadership skills that drive a continious improvement of the collobarative culture

    · Develop critical thinking and effective communication

    · Utilize different kinds of health promoting management tools

    The course progresses through a variety of tasks and activities based on both theoretical frameworks as well as knowledge sharing.
    To complete the course you need to complete all the activities and tasks successfully by due dates.
    The course evaluation mark grid varies from 0 to 5 as based on the Mindmap task and Pestle activity.
    Written work will be evaluated with numbers 0-5 by using the following criteria:

    1. Theoretical background and references
    2. Structure, content and logic
    3. Argumentation and ability for synthesis
    4. Formal compliance with the instructions.
