Objective

NURSING OF INTERNAL MEDICINE PATIENT 7 cr SIHA

Objectives:

The student shall be able to

- learn to plan, implement and evaluate the individual treatment of internal medicine patients and explain his or her actions

- recognise changes due to internal diseases in the patient and explain them to his or her and the family members

- learn to apply treatment methods used at internal medicine units with individual patients

- guide the patient and his or her family members in health promotion and the treatment of disorders

- find ethical solutions in different treatment situations

- understand a nurse's responsibility in infection control and nursing of internal medicine patients, and act aseptically in different treatment situations.

- improve his or her competence in medicinal treatment in internal medicine (Medication Passport)

- carry out medicinal treatment safely and in accordance with a physician's prescription

- monitor the effects and effectiveness of medicinal treatment

- document information relating to the treatment of internal medicine patients
