Objective

The student:

• Can determine and record the treatment needs of an internal medicine and surgical patient, plan and implement treatment, assess the effects of treatment
• Can identify changes caused to the patient and their loved ones by diseases and injuries that are treated via internal medicine and surgery
• Can apply internal medicine and surgery treatment methods on a patient-by-patient basis
• Gains proficiency in pharmacotherapy related to the care of internal medicine and surgical patients
• Can guide and support patients and loved ones in managing the health problem, as well as common internal medicine and surgery patient care in lifestyle changes and rehabilitation required
• Can use appropriate customer-oriented teaching and guidance methods, such as individual and group guidance, to help patients to commit to treatment and perform self-care
• Knows the roles and responsibilities of different professional groups and the importance of cooperation in maintaining and promoting the functional capacity of an internal medicine and surgical patient in a multi-professional team
• Works ethically in different nursing situations and the work community
• Students will learn to promote occupational and patient safety.
• Can operate in accordance with the principles of sustainable development ina care environment
