Objective

The student understands the importance of good supplier relationships. The student becomes familiar with the supplier management, supplier evaluation and supplier development. He/she understands what the quality processes and sustainable development include from the companies´ point of view. She/ he is also able to:
- look at a supply chain as a whole

- outline the key challenges in the supply chain and how the key challenges in supply can be approached

- use concepts and ways of thinking of supply chains

- describe the importance of efficient purchasing and material control, transportation, distribution and logistics services for the competitiveness of modern companies in global supply chain

- explain the importance of transparency and cooperation in the value chain

- describe the supply chain from the perspective of industry and trade.

The aim of this course is also to familiarize oneself with the responsible business thinking on purchasing and the ways to incorporate it to business strategies and operations
