The student
- can describe the growth, development and abnormalities of the masticatory system, the anatomy of the mouth and the development and function of teeth
- knows the factors affecting oral health and its promotion at various phases of a person’s life
- remembers the methods of oral disease prevention and early intervention at various phases of a person’s life
- is able to identify the substances, instruments and methods used the promotion of oral health

International connections
Syksy 2023 ja kevät 2024:
Opintojaksolla opitaan teoriassa ja harjoitellaan simulaatioympäristössä suun terveyden edistämiseen liittyviä suuhygienistin ammatillisia työelämätaitoja.
Lisäksi toteutetaan suun terveydenedistämistapahtuma Juniori amk keväällä 2024.
