Objective

After finishing the course the student is able to
-understand the significance of garment specification and its impact on garment durability, timelessness, and suitability for their chosen sustainability perspective.
- design and create a simple garment while considering their own sustainability perspective.
-utilize digital tools such as virtual fitting in garment design and pattern-making

The total workload for students is 135 hours, including 40 hours of lectures and practical exercises and 95 hours of individual and group work.

Content scheduling

- Different sustainability concepts.
- Pattern specifications and their impact on a company's financial performance
- The impact of pattern making on the durability, longevity, and timelessness of a garment
- Creating a personal pattern by hand or using technology
- Utilizing digital tools in design and pattern making, including virtual fitting.
- Different patternmaking tools (e.g. Grafis, Seamly2D, manual)
