Content scheduling

The implementation is linked to the Documentary Work, so that each person in the Documentary Work project will produce an independent photographic work: a book, a booklet, a zine, something on paper, using Adobe's InDesign or a similar folding program. In addition to the main task, students will be given sketch-like and technical tasks to master the software. However, the main focus is on each student's own artistic work on the documentary project. The course will cover the main principles of bookbinding as well as various tasks related to image editing.

Objective

The students will be able to
• apply the techniques of image editing and develop and expand their methodologies independently.
• apply the basic concepts of graphic design in their own work
• create and manage documents combining images and text.
• apply the principles of the CMYK colour management.
• apply the basic concepts of printing techniques and take the limitations of printing technologies into account in their own work.

Content

On this course, the students will develop and discuss their own expression through practical work. The students will also apply advanced image processing and the basics of graphic design and printing technology. During the course, the students will learn about the requirements of the printing industry in term of image production and practise accurate digital printing. They will also learn about different printing materials and their features.
