Course will start on week 6 (2024)

Students will:
- Implement (RDI-project related) environmental monitoring campaign that will generate data and information for a real-world need
- Utilize their know-how to solve an environmental and/or a technical problem
- Present their results through a comprehensive reports and presentations

Objective

- The student can plan and implement environmental monitoring in practice
- The student is able to use the learned monitoring methods to practical application
- The student can professionally implement and report an environmental monitoring activity
- The student can analyze, process and present the results of environmental monitoring

Materials

Opintojaksolla (ja moduulilla) käyttöön annetut materiaalit, laitteistot ja datat sekä itsenäinen oman projektityön lähdemateriaalin hankinta.

Teaching methods

Contact lectures, individual environmental monitoring campaign work in groups

- Common discussions on monitoring implementation
- Group work related to monitoring campaign planning, implementation and reporting
- Intermediate and final project presentations and reporting

Opintojakso noudattaa innovaatio pedagogiikan toimintatapoja, joissa opiskelijan aktiivinen rooli ja vastuu oman ympäristöseurannan aikataulutuksesta ja toteuttamisesta. Moduulin muilla kursseilla opittujen tietojen ja taitojen soveltaminen toteuttavaan käytännön TKI-hankkeen tavoitteisiin kytkettyyn ympäristön seurantaan (teoriatiedon soveltaminen käytäntöön).

Opintojakson aihepiiri kytkeytyy vahvasti ympäristön kestävyyteen. Opintojaksolla perehdytään ympäristön tilan seurantaan, arviointiin sekä mittaustiedon merkitykseen yhteiskunnallisessa päätöksenteossa.
