Objective

During the studies of operations management, the student will expand his/her knowledge about company processes. The student will be able to plan, manage and develop the production processes of goods and services, from both technical and economical point of view.

After completing the course the student will be able to describe the basics of the product development process. The student can name and use tools and theories (LEAN etc) for planning, managing and developing the production system. The student can also implement quality management in production. The student masters the main objectives, methods and performance indicators of production.

The student is able to discuss the different levels of production management and operations, and he/she can introduce ways to enhance the productivity. The student is able to assess the interdependencies between production and business.

Student is able to define different elements of logistics, costs and logistical features of products. Student understands the importance of logistics according strategy implantation and having competitive advance and economic situation of the enterprise.

Student is able to determine functions of organization or network from first supplier to end user.

Student is able to choose the most cost efficient procedures with the best service level.

Student understands the meaning of demand and is able to plan level of inventory with the simple methods.

Student is able to decide suitable methods of transportation according products logistical features and volume.
