Objective
Students will
• Deepen their competence in public health nursing
• Develop their ability to independently plan, administer and evaluate the comprehensive care of customers
• Learn to assume overall responsibility for customer care in their working group
• Learn to work in the role of a nursing professional for the development of public health nursing and its preconditions
in their unit
• Deepen their pharmacotherapy competence in different fields of public health nursing
• Deepen their skills and knowledge in the special features of public health nursing and related documentation, as well as understand the role of documentation in the development of nursing

Kehittämistyöt tehdään parityönä.
Opiskelija voi jatkaa kehittämistyötä opinnäytetyön aiheesta esim. jalkauttamalla työn tuloksia käytäntöön. Opiskelija voi vaihtoehtoisesti vastaanottaa uuden aiheen opettajalta – toimeksiannot saadaan pääosin projekteista tai työelämäkumppaneilta. Pääsääntöisesti kehittämistehtävissä on ollut toiminnallinen osuus. Jos opinnäytetyö on ollut toiminnallinen, kehittämistyö voi olla ns. kirjallisuuskatsaus.
Opiskelija aloittaa varsinaisen kehittämistyön työstämisen artikkelipohjaan valittavan lehden kirjoitusohjeiden mukaisesti. Lehti voi olla tieteellinen julkaisu tai alan ammatillinen lehti. Työn kirjallinen tuotos tehdään siis artikkelimuotoisena; muuta erillistä raporttia ei palauteta. Mikäli kehittämistyö ei sisällä toiminnallista osuutta eli on kirjallisuuskatsaus -> kirjallinen tuotos on laajempi (n. 10 sivua)
