Objective

The student can
- use different types of cameras.
- edit digital photographs and understand the basic principles of colour management.
- print high quality pigment prints.
- reflect on their expressive choices in an ethical and aesthetic way.

Content

The course introduces the technical basis of photography through theory and various short exercises. The emphasis is on an experimental and exploratory approach to artistic work - the observation and mastery of photographic phenomena, through which the student develops a strong understanding of photographic techniques.

Teaching methods

Assignments, experimental work, lectures, and discussions. 100% attendance required.

International connections

During the course, a strong understanding of photography is developed through theory and experimental work. We use digital cameras and also consider issues related to digital workflows and printing from the perspective of sustainable development. Working methods and materials are chosen with respect for the environment and resources.

In practice: Topic-specific information – experiments/testing – viewing and discussing images.
