Objective

The aim of the course is to introduce students to the fundamentals of industrial robotics and machine safety, including the standards. After completing the course, the student:
- can program industrial robots.
- can document robot programs and write instructions for robot user.
- can simulate a simple robot cell and understands the significance of simulation programs.
- can estimate the costs of robot investment.
- knows the relevant safety standards for robot-, machine and energy safety. Also knowing the official safety standards to look for safety requirements.
- understands the principles of risk and hazard assessment.

• Programming: position registers and parametric programs
• Practical lab work
• Modeling the robot cell and verifying the cycle time in simulation environment
• Basics of robot investment
• Different types of industrial robots and their use
• Gripper design
• Safety of robot system, automation system and related standards
• Documentation of a robot program
• Local robot users and integrators
