Objective

After completing the course the student will be able to
- understand the history of puppet animation from the point of view of technique and means of expression
- master the main principles of puppet construction and the use of different materials
- be able to visualise in three dimensions the sets supporting a production
- recognise and take account of health and safety and environmental aspects of the production process
- work as part of a film crew and implement plans during filming
- understand the importance of light and its use in animation.
- master the basics of studio work in stop motion production.

Content

During this workshop course, students will learn about puppet and set construction, lighting, filming and animation, and different materials in stop motion animation production. Independent and small group work will be integrated with the technical objectives of the course and will deepen the development of the student's own artistic expression and understanding of the possibilities of this multi-stage production process and means of expression.
