Objective

The aim of the course is to familiarize the student with the characteristics and peculiarities of data communication networks and software interfaces used in automation. Upon completing the course, the student:
- has a general understanding of the factory data communication hierarchy and the significance of data flows.
- is familiar with the structure of distributed automation system networks.
- understands the specific features and operation of common fieldbuses.
- knows the key software interfaces and components of automation data communication.
- can configure a fieldbus and add new devices to it.
- can create a program for control through the fieldbus.
