The student:
• Knows a surgical patient’s treatment path
• Knows the surgically treated patient’s treatment as a whole, its different starting points, specificities and ethical requirements for different patients
• Knows aseptic and systematic working methods
• Can promote and implement occupational and patient safety in the treatment of surgical patients
• Can plan, implement, monitor and evaluate safe and effective drug and fluid treatment of surgical patients
• Practises various methods of assisting surgical patients during nursing work
• Can plan, implement and evaluate surgical patient guidance and teaching based on the customer and team in cooperation with other experts
• Can support a surgical patient’s self-care in post-operation treatment in hospital and at home
• Can ensure an up-to-date flow of information at different stages of surgical patient care
