Objectives

Student
• Deepens their knowledge of age policy and nursing of older people
• Knows how to apply ethical principles in the nursing of older people
• Is familiar with the links between the physiology and changes of ageing and the manifestations of illnesses and treatment problems
• Learns about the special issues to be taken into account in the care of older people
• Advances their capabilities in safe pharmacotherapy for older people
• Knows the possibilities of digital services to support an older person's independence and functional capacity
• Is able to plan, implement and evaluate guidance and teaching to achieve and maintain the well-being, health and functional capacity of an older person while utilising a multidisciplinary network
• Is able to carry out an assessment of the need for comprehensive care and the mapping of functional capacity and, on the basis of this, take care of the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of care and services
• can assess the care needs of an older patient in need of urgent care and are able to make decisions on the necessary measures independently
