Objective

The student:
· knows the basics of the digestive system, the genitourinary system, and the structure and function of the genital organs, and the factors behind them
· know the early events of the development of the human individual
• understands the clinical pathway/treatment process of medical surgical and infection patients and its special features
• understands the importance of up-to-date information and the flow of information in the different stages of overall treatment of medical surgical patients and patients with infectious diseases
• develops their multidisciplinary teamwork skills in the care of medical surgical patients and patients with infectious diseases
• promotes patient safety when implementing treatment/assistance methods
• makes use of digitalisation in patient care and guidance
• applies different problem-solving skills appropriately while analysing and evaluating their own activities
• is able to integrate nutritional care and guidance of medical surgical patients as part of nursing together with a multidisciplinary network of experts
• identifies digital solutions to support decision-making in nursing

· Special features and treatment of medical surgical patients
· Comprehensive treatment of patients with infections using medical surgical methods
· Prevention, control and treatment of serious infections, highly contagious infections and pandemics
Guidance for patients with infections and their families and friends using different methods, e.g. digitally
· Nutritional care and guidance of medical surgical patients
· Digital medical devices in medical surgical treatment and perioperative nursing
In simulations:
- Practice nursing for people with national diseases, information management and decision-making in nursing.
- Discuss the ethical challenges of nursing and train ethical sensitivity.
