After completing the course, the student will be able to tell:
• what Turku University of Applied Sciences is like as an educational institution
• how to study at Turku UAS
• how to support students' well-being
• how to develop your competence as a student
• what digital tools are needed for studying

Content

Digistart helps students familiarise themselves with studying at Turku University of Applied Sciences before starting their studies. The course is completed independently in itslearning environment.

Through the Digistart course, students will become acquainted with Turku UAS as an organization, explore learning methods, and familiarize themselves with the tools and IT systems used during their studies. Additionally, students will learn about the support available for their wellbeing and studies, and where to get help in different situations.

Teaching methods

Independent online learning.

International connections

Digital learning, sustainable development is included in the themes of the course content.

Student workload

Study material, course tasks and tests in itslearning. The estimated workload is 25 hours.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Each of the five topics includes a multiple-choice test. A prerequisite for study attainment is to complete the course by passing all five tests.

If all the tests in the course have not been passed by the deadline, the course is failed.

Content scheduling

Through the Digistart course, students will become acquainted with Turku UAS as an organization, explore learning methods, and familiarize themselves with the tools and IT systems used during their studies. Additionally, students will learn about the support available for their wellbeing and studies, and where to get help in different situations.

The possibility to complete the implementation will close on 28.2.2025, after which it will no longer be possible to earn credit for the course. The learning material remains available in itslearning.

Assessment methods and criteria

The course is assessed pass/fail.

Each of the five topics includes a multiple-choice test. A prerequisite for study attainment is to complete the course by passing all five tests with at least 60% correct answers.
