Objective
After completing this component students are able to discuss a university of applied sciences as a study environment, recognize the principles of accessible studying, describe the activities and services of the Student Union (TUO), recognize the structure and contents of the degree from the university of applied sciences, apply the curriculum in their degree programme, look for study opportunities provided by other degree programmes, name regulations and rules governing studying at a university of applied sciences, use the opportunities provided by student financial aid, and use the services of student health services.

Contents: familiarization with different study environments (facilities, equipment, library, Winha, Optima, SoleOPS, Messi, etc.) atudent Union (TUO), accessible studying (physical, psychological, and social), group formation, familiarization with the field of study (the structure and contents of a degree from a university of applied sciences, presentation of and familiarization with the curriculum of the student's degree programme, the framework and opportunities of the Individual Study Plan [other degree programmes, JOO-studies, virtual study], rules and regulations governing study at a university of applied sciences), student financial aid (financing of studies, meal and travel discounts, health care).
