Course Description:
This lecture-based course explores the practical applications of biotechnology across various sectors, with a focus on industrial, environmental, and pharmaceutical / diagnostics contexts. The course emphasizes the theoretical understanding of biotechnological processes, tools, and workflows used in real-world settings.
Students will study key topics such as microbial biotechnology, genetic engineering, bioprocessing, and bioinformatics. The course also covers essential aspects of laboratory operations, including quality control, regulatory compliance, and biosafety, through case studies and industry examples.
The course provides a strong conceptual foundation for understanding how biotechnological techniques are applied in professional environments, preparing students for future practical training or internships.
